5 Ways to Beat the Post Vacation Blues

You all know that feeling when your vacation is over! The long faces as you collect your luggage and on the drive home. Returning to the real world after your time off - to work, cooking, cleaning and your regular schedule. It's hit you - the post vacation blues! πŸ™ Read further for my strategies to help you combat those feelings!

Plan Your Next Trip

The number one way to beat the post vacation blues is to book your next trip! On your flight or drive home start talking about your ideas for the next adventure. Then contact me and we'll start planning! Many American don't use all their vacation time - don't let your days become a statistic. πŸ˜‰

Meal Planning

I'm guessing planning and making meals is one of your most time consuming weekly chores! I have a few suggestions for when you arrive home to make this easier! Have a grocery delivery scheduled for the day you arrive home. It'll be nice to skip a trip to the store on your first day back and be able to stock the fridge quickly! Freezing a few meals before your depart on your trip is also a nice way to ease back into your post vacation life. πŸ™‚ Lastly, this would be a great week to try a meal delivery service (you can also set this up ahead of time). Even though it still involves cooking - it's nice to have all the food bought and prepped for you.

Leave Your House Clean

We all love coming home to a clean house! After enjoying such a great vacation it feels good to come home to all the dishes done, no piles of paper to sort and laundry caught up.

There are also things I suggest doing before you leave on a trip. Here's my article onΒ 7 Things to Do in Your House Before Departing on Vacation

Your First Week Home

If possible, don't go back to work the next day after you arrive home. This is especially helpful if you need to recover from jet lag! It will give you time to unpack, do laundry and get back into your normal life flow. Starting on a Tuesday and not facing a full work week can also ease you back from your vacation mode. Schedule some fun your first week back - have lunch with a friend, go on a date night or schedule a fun activity with the kids!

Relive/Share Your Trip

Sort your photos and journal about your vacation memories! Make a scrapbook or frame some pictures to see in your house for a daily reminder. Share your photos on social media to inspire your friends and family. πŸ™‚
