Union Station went through a major refurbishment in 2016 and on my most recent day trip to Denver I checked it out. If you’re visiting downtown Denver, it’s worth a peek and stroll inside as it’s beautiful. It’s like a step back in time with the elegant interior and it awakens one’s dreams and the romance of train travel!
A few things to do and see at Denver’s Union Station:
1. Eat/Drink
Sip a coffee at the Pig Train Coffee Co., grab breakfast at popular Snooze, or try to decide between 30 craft beers on tap at the Terminal Bar (which is the former ticket counter).
2. Stay
When the train station was refurbished The Crawford Hotel opened in Union Station. Occupying three levels – each floor is designed after a different era in the station’s history (and no two rooms are alike!). A great location for your downtown Denver hotel stay!
3. Work
The Great Hall is a the spot to be inspired and get some work done! With several table areas and such great ambience – you may have found a new co-working area to use during your trip.

4. Travel
Ride the train to the airport (more information here) to catch your flight. Or, discover a slower, scenic way to travel as you board Amtrak.
5. Shop/Relax
Browse for a book at Tattered Cover Bookstore or pick up a colorful bouquet at the floral shop Bloom. Take your new book and relax in one of the comfy chairs or couches (or pass the time people watching!).
I hope you enjoy your visit to Denver’s Union Station and the Mile High City! 🙂 I’d love to hear your favorite things to do in Denver – feel free to share your comments!
Until the next adventure – bon voyage!
