Every time my husband and I visit The Netherlands we travel north to visit friends in Friesland. On our latest trip there in early September I was excited to have a new hotel choice to try. We loved our one night stay at the recently renovated Catshuis Boutique Hotel – I wish we could have stayed longer!
Location
The Cathuis Boutique is located in the prime city center location of Leeuwarden, a lovely small city lined with cobblestone streets to explore! The Cathuis is within steps of local shops and outdoor cafes to enjoy. It’s located on the main canal running through Leeuwarden – offering picturesque Dutch views!
Bathroom
This may be the best reason to stay at the Cathuis! With it’s enormous bathroom, huge walk in shower, and oversize soaking tub – you may never want to leave your room! Slip into the cozy robes and slippers provided for a spa like escape.
Ammenities
With the enormous king size bed (not the traditional European style with 2 mattresses) and blackout blinds; you’ll be well rested for exploring Friesland. As we stayed here during summer, I appreciate the air conditioning! Even in higher end hotels – a/c isn’t always a standard feature in many European hotels. The Cathuis is also well equipped with luxurious toiletries and a coffee/tea station.
