5 Things to See & Do in Las Vegas

With its shows, casinos, hotels, restaurants, and attractions – these tips only scratch the surface of what Vegas has to offer! Besides people watching, outdoor cocktails, and walking the strip – these are 5 things I recommend on your trip to Vegas:

1. Explore Over the Top Vegas Hotels

The hotels along The Strip in Vegas have evolved into tourist attractions themselves. No matter where you’re staying – these hotels are fun to check out.
-The Parisian to view its half scale size Eiffel Tower.
-The Venetian with its lagoon for gondola rides.
-The New York New York for the architecture and roller coaster rides.
-The Flamingo for its famous retro neon lights.
-The Cosmopolitan to grab a bite in its upscale food hall.
-The Bellagio to view the famous fountains.

2. Visit the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens

Their fountains may get all the attention, but don’t miss a visit to the Bellagio’s Gardens. This 14,000′ area, located just to the right of the lobby is free to the public and open 24 hours. The displays are changed for each season and also Lunar New Year. We experienced a spring exhibit and the creativity with the plants, colors, and installments is off the charts!

3. Take a Detour to Fremont Street

If you want to experience a little Vegas life off The Strip – head to Fremont Street (it’s about a 10 -15 minute Uber). You’ll experience a glimpse of old Vegas with original hotels and neon signs. There’s also a plethora of free entertainment at the Fremont Street Experience! On the night we visited (a weeknight) – there were 2 live concerts, numerous street performers, and a gymnast/acrobatic type show.

4. Wow Your Taste Buds at Zaytinya Restaurant

Chef Jose Andres’ recently opened (May 2025) his Mediterranean inspired restaurant in The Forum Shops at Caesars. It’s a lovely atmosphere to dine, with an eye catching “evil eye” glass mosaic in the bar area. I highly recommend the Chef’s Experience menu. My husband and I loved all the small plate courses – featuring flavors from Greece, Turkey, and Lebanon. It was our favorite meal during this trip! You can read my full review here.

5. Take a Photo With the Vegas Sign

Did you even visit Vegas if you don’t have a selfie with the iconic “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada” sign?! 🙂 Expect it to be busy, with a line for pics… but part of the fun is seeing everyone’s costumes and poses! Located on the very south end of the strip – the sign is walkable if you’re up for some extra steps (be sure to take water, it’s a little over 2 mile walk from the Cosmopolitan Hotel). There are also numerous Ubers/taxis available and small parking area if you choose to drive.

Until the next adventure – bon voyage
