The Crawford opened in 2014 along with the newly renovated Denver Union Station. Since that time it’s been on numerous “best of” hotel lists and is a hotspot in Denver!
Even though the hotel lobby is in the mix of the hustle and bustle of the terminal; the top notch service was evident from check in. Thinking it was only small talk – the front desk asked the reason for my visit (my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary) and it was a nice surprise to have champagne delivered to our room!
The lobby integrated into the Denver Union Station terminal is what makes this hotel so special! With the hip bars and restaurants one doesn’t have to leave the hotel for a fun evening. Since this is where Amtrak passengers arrive and depart from – there’s also excellent people watching.
For our overnight – I chose the Pullman room. Our location couldn’t have been better as it was enough distance from the louder lobby area. It had a super comfy bed and the sound proofing worked blocking out the noise (we had 2 large outside windows). I loved the design – it really had the feel of a luxury train sleeper car with the art deco design and vintage train memorabilia. The bathroom was large with a huge shower (great shower head!) and beautiful tiling.
One of the best reasons to stay at The Crawford Hotel is it’s location. With a prime spot in Denver’s LoDo neighborhood – you’re close to numerous restaurants, terrific shopping and professional sporting events. It’s also the ideal spot for catching the light rail to the Denver Airport.
The Crawford does have the dreaded daily destination fee… but it delivers more than the usual water bottles, gym and wi-fi (those are also included). A few of their unique offerings are the daily craft beer, complimentary rides in a Tesla, and priority reservations at the popular Snooze restaurant in the terminal.
With so much to do nearby – I highly recommend this hotel for a fun weekend stay! It’s the perfect hotel for couples, train buffs, foodies, sports fans, or those traveling to DIA.
Until the next adventure – bon voyage!
