On my recent vacation in Hawaii, I spent the first night at one of Maui’s most talked about hotels – Paia Inn. This small, boutique hotel is located in the trendy Paia Town – on Maui’s North Shore.
The best reason to stay at Paia Inn is LOCATION. If you enjoy being in the heart of the action then this is the spot for you! Paia is a bustling small town with numerous restaurants and unique shops within walking distance. Hawaii’s famous shaved ice can be yours for the tasting in a few short steps and it’s an easy 15 minute drive from the airport.
Paia Inn is also a very short walk to the beach with their private access through a short walkway. They have a secluded area for guests equipped with beach chairs and water toys, but the outdoor furniture is in need of a bit of an upgrade. My husband and I enjoyed an early morning walk… you know, jet lag. 😉 It’s a small beach but we enjoyed our first views of Maui (we had arrived in the dark) and only sharing the beach with a few locals.
For our quick one night stay I chose the Petite Room… and petite it is (the sink is the nightstand on one side of the bed)! The size was very cozy for two people with just enough room for our luggage and us to walk around the bed. It was perfect for a one night stay but I definitely don’t recommend it for longer. The room was well equipped with beach towels for our use and super nice high end bath products!
This hotel has lovely common areas with welcoming furnishings and special touches. Many spots where I wanted to curl up with a cup of tea and good book!
One of my favorite things about the Paia Inn was the artwork! A local artist’s Polynesian paintings are displayed in the rooms and throughout the hotel.
The resort fee is $15 per day (a deal in Hawaii!) and this includes their extra amenities such as onsite parking, wi-fi, computer use, off site gym access and beach towels.
The Paia Inn is the perfect hotel for couples or a girlfriends’ weekend, but not a family friendly place to take the kids.
