The Wine Country Inn is a charming hotel in Palisade, Colorado – in the heart of Colorado wine country! My husband and I stayed in this 80 room boutique property last summer for two nights. We had planned on staying in a bed and breakfast for our visit, but after our calls weren’t returned (a good reminder how important timely responses to clients are!) we decided on the Wine Country Inn. Located right off of Interstate 70, we were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the location was.
The inn is surrounded by vineyards with a gorgeous view of the Grand Mesa! A little highway traffic can be heard, but it didn’t disturb our sleep or distract from the special qualities of the hotel. A full breakfast buffet is included, along with evening tastings of the Wine Country Inn’s private label wines. We took advantage of the breakfast each morning and were happy with the fresh and home made selections. At the evening tastings we enjoyed sampling their wines and meeting other guests.
The staff here is very friendly, helpful and offered tips about the area. There are two restaurants in the hotel open limited hours for lunch and dinner. We didn’t dine at these, but they use local produce and prepare the meals from scratch. The rooms are spacious, nicely decorated (even if a bit outdated) and complimentary wi-fi is available in the rooms as well. There is an outdoor pool, fitness center, and hot tub available for guest use. A lovely porch has rocking chairs to enjoy the scenery or chat with other guests. We loved how The Wine Country Inn is only a short walk into Palisade. Also, within 15 miles there are 24 wineries one can visit (via car or bike), so it’s a perfect location for a wine tasting weekend!
Until the next adventure – bon voyage!
