Upon my arrival at the Westin Puerto Vallarta, I was greeted by friendly people at the front desk for my tour of the resort. Even though the expansive, marble lobby isn’t the most welcoming entrance – the extra nice staff at the Westin made up for my first impression. The resort sits on 14 acres of prime Puerto Vallarta real estate, has 280 room and suite choices, and offers great amenities such as a welcoming spa, lovely pools and a private beach area.
Rooms:The room I toured overlooked the pool area and also offered a fantastic view of the bay. A big plus – all of the rooms and suites at the Westin have ocean views with private balconies. I found it extremely clean and stocked with all the extras such as robes, toiletries, etc… On the down side, the rooms are a bit dated for what I’d expect at a Westin property.
Location:The Westin has one of the best locations for your beach getaway in Puerto Vallarta!It doesn’t get much more convenient with the marina across the street (shopping and restaurants!), a private beach area, and a 15 minute taxi ride to the Malecon.
Grounds:Even though I found the inside public areas to be a little stark, the outside areas of this resort are gorgeous! With the numerous palm trees and meandering pools – it’s a wonderful area to spend the day outdoors.Their beach area isn’t as large as I expected – but they do have a private roped off section and lovely cabanas to be pampered with an oceanside massage.
Overall; the Westin Puerto Vallarta is a beautiful resort with all the amenities you’ll need for your Mexican vacation.With on site restaurants, a fully equipped fitness center, beach access and a wonderful spa – one doesn’t need to leave the hotel to enjoy a wonderful vacation! Even though I toured this hotel during the off season of June (it wasn’t very busy) – there were families and couples enjoying the pools, beach and gorgeous weather!
