Views/Location
Located on the west side of Tucson – the Tucson Starr Pass Resort is the perfect spot for your southern Arizona escape and convenient to downtown, Saguaro National Park, or day trips to Bisbee and Tombstone.
The views from this JW Marriott overlooking Tucson are unrivaled! Watch a colorful desert sunset and take in the city lights.
The large cactus surrounding the resort add to the ambience and Southwest desert charm.
Lovely Rooms
First and most importantly – reserve or request a room on the east side. This side has the best views of Tucson and the mountains! My husband and I stayed in the King Premium City View Guest Room. We loved the scenery from our balcony!
The bed was as comfy as you’d expect at a JW property, the room was spacious, and I’ve never seen such a ginormous TV in a hotel room!
Our large bathroom had a good sized shower, separate tub and included a nice selection of toiletries.
Great Food
Even though a few of the restaurants were closed due to COVID-19 protocols and low on staff – we dined on tasty fresh food choices at Starr Pass!
One of my favorite meals at the resort was breakfast (my fave meal of the day!) at the Signature Grill. Accompanying my made to order omelet and fresh fruit was the best homemade bread I’ve tasted in a long time!
Our favorite dinner spot was Salud – the resort’s casual bar and outdoor eating area. They specialize in handcrafted cocktails and offer over 100 tequilas! I recommend their quesadillas and margaritas! 🙂
For your coffee addiction there is a Starbucks on site, The JW Markethas all the snacks you may want, and lunch is available pool side from Plunge (order the chicken/avocado sandwich!).
Outdoor Space
Directly behind the resort there are numerous trails through a huge cactus forest. My husband and I worked off his first In-N-Out burger hiking in this scenic area!
The Starr Resort has a terrific outdoor pool area! A lap pool, infinity pool and lazy river will keep all your traveling companions happy.I especially enjoyed reading and lunching here during our getaway.
If you are a golfer – this is the resort for you! Their 9 hole golf course is included in the daily resort fee.
With comfy lounge seating and cozy fire pits; the outdoor seating area was my favorite place at Starr Resort! It’s the place to be for happy hour and sunset viewing! Each evening they have a sunset toast at 5:30 that includes one of their artisan tequilas. This is a fun nightly tradition – I suggest you attend at least once during your stay!
The JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort & Spa is a gorgeous hotel with super friendly staff and top notch amenities – I highly recommend you check it out! It’s a great resort for couples, families or a girlfriend weekend.
Until the next adventure – bon voyage!
