My husband and I overnighted at the Moxy Athens City last fall before our cruise departure to the Middle East. Marriott’s Moxy hotels have a playful vibe and are well located in city center areas. This was our second Moxy stay; as our first was May 2022 in San Diego.

Pros
With a convenient location – Moxy Athens City hotel was a great spot for one night. After an overnight flight we were also pleasantly surprised our room was ready hours ahead of time. This deserves bonus points after a long travel day!
Kudos also to the extra friendly and accommodating staff! Being a new hotel – I also appreciated how clean it’s kept.
One more feature deserves a shout out – compared to the room size, the Moxy has a spacious, nicely tiled, walk in shower!
During your stay – don’t miss a bite a the Veneti Great Baggeion! We had tasty pastries and my hubby got his coffee fix at this cafe a couple doors down from the Moxy.

Cons
Moxy hotel rooms are extremely small with little to no storage. The Moxy Athens City hotel was no exception. There’s no closet or drawers – only a few areas to hang clothes on hooks. It’s also tight with not much space to open suitcases.
If Moxy needs one big upgrade – it’s in the beds. Both I’ve stayed at have extremely hard mattresses. These are in definite need of improvement and comfort!
The Moxy Athens City is perfect for one night… but I don’t recommend it for longer stays. For a similar boutique hotel experience and short visits – in 2021 we preferred the NEW Hotel Athens for room size, location, and rooftop bar.
Until the next adventure – bon voyage!
