I recently stayed 4 nights at the Moxy San Diego over Memorial Day weekend. I’m excited to share my thoughts on this new Marriott boutique brand and 3 reasons you may enjoy it!
Location
Always one of the most important reasons in choosing a hotel! The Moxy San Diego is a perfect city center location for your visit and is walkable to many of the popular downtown neighborhoods, restaurants and shopping. It’s also easy to grab an Uber or taxi from here and a short 15 minutes to the airport. If you have a car, they have valet parking or there’s also nearby public overnight garage parking.
Fun Factor
The fun starts as you check in at the bar (you’re also treated to drink tokens to use during your stay). With it’s colorful decor, games to play and inviting atmosphere – the lobby is made for socializing and hanging out!
Unique Rooms
Even though the rooms are very cozy in size – they are thoughtfully designed. Most importantly they have a large shower, comfy bed, and are quiet – must haves for any hotel stay! With their small, but functional size – it’s a perfect hotel to use as a home base for your explorations of San Diego. Keep in mind there isn’t traditional storage space with closets or drawers. The Moxy features pegs and bars on the wall for hanging your clothes and accessories.
I recommend this hotel for couples and friends’ travel as it’s not family friendly. The Moxy San Diego is also a good fit if you don’t plan on spending much time in your room.
