I recently stayed 4 nights at the Moxy San Diego (Marriott’s new boutique brand hotel) and I’m excited to share my thoughts on it. Here are 3 reasons you may enjoy it:
1. Location
Always one of the most important reasons in choosing a hotel, the Moxy San Diego is a perfect city center location for your visit. It’s walkable to many of the popular downtown neighborhoods, restaurants, and shopping. It’s also easy to grab an Uber or taxi from here and a short 15 minutes to the airport. If you have a car, they have valet parking or there’s also nearby public overnight garage parking.
2. Fun Factor
The fun starts when you check in at the bar, as you’re treated to drink tokens to use during your stay! With colorful decor, games to play, and inviting atmosphere – the lobby is made for socializing and hanging out!
3. Unique Rooms
Even though the rooms are very cozy in size – they’re thoughtfully designed. They have a large shower and the rooms are quiet, but the beds could use a bit of an upgrade (on the firm side for my taste). With their small, but functional size – it’s a perfect hotel to use as a home base for your explorations of San Diego. Keep in mind there isn’t traditional storage space with closets or drawers. The Moxy features pegs and bars on the wall for hanging your clothes and accessories.
I recommend this hotel for couples and friends’ travel, as it’s not family friendly. The Moxy San Diego is a good fit if you don’t plan on spending much time in your room.
